What are zygomatic implants, and who are they for?
Los dental implants Zygomatic implants are an advanced implant solution for patients with severe upper jaw bone loss who do not have enough bone for conventional implants.
These implants anchor into the zygomatic bone, the cheekbone, which gives a solid, stable base for fixed teeth.
This technique makes it possible to give these patients an effective, long-lasting solution even in the most difficult cases of bone loss.
When is this the right treatment?
Lack of bone in the upper jaw: for patients whose bone loss rules out conventional implants.
Severe jaw atrophy: for those who have worn dentures for many years and lost a great deal of bone as a result.
Infection or gum disease: for patients who have lost bone to dental infection or severe periodontal disease.
Fast, effective results: when you want function and appearance restored in a single day, with an immediate improvement in quality of life.
Pros and cons of zygomatic implants
Zygomatic implants have changed what is possible for patients with severe upper jaw bone loss. These are the main advantages and drawbacks.
Why choose our clinic in Alicante?
We use the most advanced technology and techniques in every implant procedure.
Technology
We keep our implant work at the forefront with computer-guided surgery and dental CT scanning. That lets us do precise, detailed planning, so the surgery is safer and more effective.
Experience
Con over 20 years’ experience, our specialists, Dr Javier Arroyo and Dr Fernando Hernández, are leading names in implantology and oral surgery. Their long track record is what makes the treatment reliable.
Precision
With tools such as the iTero intraoral scanner, we plan implant placement in fine detail. This technology gives us exceptional precision and lets us adapt to what each patient needs.
Recovery and comfort
We use ozone therapy to improve healing and sedation techniques so every procedure is comfortable and free of anxiety. That makes for a quick recovery without complications, even in the most complex treatments.
How zygomatic implants are placed
Free first visit
We assess your case individually and tell you the options that suit you.
Full diagnosis
If zygomatic implants are the answer, we carry out a thorough diagnosis with the iTero 3D scanner and a dental CT scan: precise 3D images, X-rays and a full clinical examination, to plan the treatment around you.
Your treatment plan
From the diagnosis we build a plan tailored to you. Thanks to the iTero simulation you can see the end result before we start.
Guided surgery and placement
On the day, we use computer-guided surgery to place the zygomatic implants precisely and with minimal invasion. That makes the procedure safe and effective, and cuts recovery time and the risk of complications.
Provisional teeth
Once the implants are in, a provisional prosthesis is fitted the same day. You leave the clinic with a new smile.
Final teeth
After roughly 4 months, while the implants bond with the bone, the provisional prosthesis is replaced with the final one. It is stronger and better-looking, built to last and to work properly.
Follow-up
We follow up continuously and schedule regular check-ups to make sure the treatment is a success. Keeping those appointments matters for your dental health.
