What is guided surgery?

An advanced procedure that uses technology to scan the patient’s mouth and build a 3D model, so we can plan the treatment fully before carrying it out.

It starts by capturing digital images of the patient’s mouth with a scanner. Those images are used to build a 3D model of the teeth and bone, working out the ideal position, angle and depth for each implant.

Then a custom surgical guide is made and used during the actual procedure.

Why choose us for guided surgery?

Technology and precision: our clinic is equipped with the latest 3D imaging and CAD/CAM software.

Specialisation: our team specialises in computer-guided surgery.

Comfort and recovery: we make the experience as comfortable as possible. Guided surgery is less invasive, which usually means a faster, less painful recovery than traditional methods.

The advantages of guided surgery

It has big advantages over traditional implant placement

Surgical precision

Guided surgery places implants with unmatched precision. With 3D images and computer planning, the surgeon fixes the exact position, angle and depth of each implant, which minimises the risk of error.

Faster recovery

Because the planning is so precise, the technique is less invasive than traditional ones: smaller incisions and less handling of the tissue, so recovery is faster and more comfortable.

Shorter treatment

It cuts the time needed to place implants considerably. The precision and efficiency of the procedure mean the surgery is over sooner.

Better results

Detailed planning and precise placement give a better-looking result. The implants are placed so they blend naturally with the patient’s teeth, and the end result looks and feels like natural teeth.

How guided surgery works

Free first visit

The first step is a detailed consultation to assess your mouth and decide whether you are a candidate for implants with guided surgery.

Planning

If you are, we use 3D scanning to get a detailed image of your mouth. Those images are the basis of the digital 3D model we use to plan the implant placement precisely.

Designing the surgical guide

From the 3D model we design a custom surgical guide. It is used during surgery to make sure the implants go exactly where the plan says.

The procedure

On the day, we place the implants using the surgical guide. Thanks to the planning done beforehand, it is faster and less invasive than traditional techniques.

Aftercare

After surgery we give you specific aftercare instructions. The follow-up appointments we arrange matter: they let us check the implants are bonding properly and see how you are recovering.

Final restoration

Once the implants have fully bonded with the bone, we fit the final crowns to complete the process.
